How We Got Here

Fruit has been growing on this ground in the Mississippi River Valley bluffs since 1974. Long before we arrived, somebody stood in these rows deciding which trees to plant and which ones had earned another season. That history is part of why we wanted this particular farm. You can feel it in the older trees and in the way the rows follow the land instead of fighting it.

We took ownership in 2015. Our family had a straightforward idea of what we wanted to build: a small orchard that grows genuinely good fruit, charges a fair price for it, and treats every person who drives out here like a neighbor rather than a ticket. Nine growing seasons later that's still the whole plan, and it still shapes every decision we make.

A Real Working Farm

We're a working family farm, and you'll notice that the moment you pull in. There's no admission gate, no midway, no costumed characters. What there is: strawberry rows in June, apple trees that start with Premier Honeycrisp in the fall, cider pressed from our own fruit, pies out of the oven on October Saturdays, and cutting boards made by hand in our shop over the winter.

The whole family pitches in, kids included. Our children work the sales room, help customers find the right variety, and talk visitors into trying the cider. Guests tell us those conversations are their favorite part of the trip, and honestly, they're ours too. We'd rather you leave remembering the people than the parking lot.

What We Believe In

Fair, straightforward pricing. No entrance fees. No hidden charges. No nickel-and-diming for a wagon ride or a photo spot. You pay for the fruit and the goods you carry out, and that's the end of it. We think an afternoon at a farm should be affordable for a family of five.

Quality over volume. We're small on purpose. Staying small means we can pay attention to the details — which trees are ready, which berries are sweet this week, which bag of apples is right for the pie you're planning. If a variety isn't good yet, we'll tell you to come back rather than sell it to you.

Communication and relationships. Texting is the fastest way to reach us, and we call back within an hour. Ask us what's ripe, whether the rows are picking well, or whether it's a good morning to bring toddlers. We'd rather answer honestly and see you at the right time than have you drive out on a slow day.

A place that's easy for families. A small, quiet setting makes a real difference for young kids and first-time pickers. Visitors have chosen us because they needed somewhere calm, unhurried and accessible — and that feedback keeps us pointed in the right direction.
